چکیده

Microscopic Combinatorial approach is used to calculate the state and level densities with fixed exciton numbers, in some actinide nuclei. Deformed Saxon-Woods shell model was used as a basis from which all posible configurations were generated. The pairing interaction was taken into account by applying the BCS theory to each configurations. Both the spin and parity distributions were obtained, considering the deformation of the nucleus. Relevance of the result to parity nonconservation studies involving epithermal neutrons on 238 U and 232 Th is discussed.

The shell structure of magic nuclei far from stability is discussed in terms of the self-consistent spherical Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov theory. In particular, the sensitivity of the shell-gap sizes and the two-neutron separation energies to the choice of particle-hole and particle-particle components of the effective interaction is investigated.

The second unique forbidden electron capture (EC) decay in 123 Te is calculated in the Proton-Neutron Quasi-Particle Random Phase Approximation (pn-QRPA), making use of Skyrme-type residual interactions. As in the allowed Gamow-Teller channel, the forbidden nuclear matrix elements depend sensitively on the competition between particle-hole and particle-particle correlations. Theory provides a l...

The correct use of energy-dependent single-particle level (s.p.l.) densities within particle-hole state densities based on the equidistant spacing model (ESM) is analysed. First, an analytical expression is obtained following the convolution of energy-dependent excited-particle and hole densities. Next, a comparison is made with results of the ESM formula using average s.p.l. densities for the ...
